Job Description:

Summary Description Of Position

This position exists to perform courier and transportation services Center-wide and within a 10-mile radius of the Center.

  • This includes pickup and delivery of parcels point-to-point both on/off Center, daily pickup and delivery to the U.S. Post Office in Artesia, NM
  • Performs all mail route services to all FLETC designated mail centers, contractor offices, and the FLETC Firing Range
  • Operates Company/government provided vehicle(s)
  • Performs semiskilled and skilled duties in other trades areas
  • Other work as assigned or required of the contract

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Requirements And Qualification

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have valid Driver License and ability to be insured by the Company‚Äôs insurance provider required
  • Must be capable of passing a drug screen and background check
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
  • Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work location

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Work will require the regular utilization of hand and finger dexterity, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, turning, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that, due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Work is generally conducted in an inside environment, but may also involve some outside work, depending on the task. The inside environment may be in a warehouse setting or an office or cubicle with close quarters, with low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
