Job Description:

This position exists to perform the full range of services to maintain all plants, trees, shrubs, ground cover, and lawns in a manner that prolongs life and sustains a healthy appearance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Maintains mowing and trimming of grassed areas.
  • Maintains shrub and ground cover maintenance and replacement.
  • Polices of grounds, roads, parking lots and sidewalks.
  • Inspects once a week that all trash, rubbish, and debris is collected and disposed.
  • Performs semiskilled and skilled duties in other maintenance trades areas.
  • Completes other work as assigned or required of the contract.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, not determined at time of hire.

Experience and Skills:

* Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a position as described below performing work commercially.
* Must have a High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
* Must be capable of passing a drug screen and background check* Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
* Must be capable of passing a drug screen and background check
* Experience with a zero-turn mower.
* Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
* Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required
* Must have reliable transportation to/from work location

Physical Requirements:
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Work will require the regular utilization of hand and finger dexterity, as well as close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, turning, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that, due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Work is generally conducted in an outside environment, but may also involve some inside work, depending on the task. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
