Job Description:

  • This is a safety sensitive position and exist to perform services to various boiler and high pressure vessels systems to produce steam or high-temperature water for use in an establishment, fires boiler, observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of boiler operation, adjusts controls to insure safe and efficient boiler operation and to meet demands for steam or high-temperature water.
  • This position may also do one or more of the following: maintain a log in which various aspects of boiler operation are recorded; clean, oil, make repairs or assist in repair to boiler room equipment, treat boiler water with chemicals and analyze boiler water for such things as acidity, causticity, and alkalinity. This position also performs annual requirements for internal inspections, repair or replacement of key operating elements to boilers, to include but not limited to: Heat Exchangers, burner assemblies, flame sensors, ignitors, electrical and communication wiring, condensate systems etc.

Experience and Skills:

  • Boiler Operator/Mechanic must have and maintain a valid NM driver’s license
  • Be able to climb ladders, be capable of crouching, crawling, grasping and handling objects and pick up and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • In addition, the employee must be able to effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers and customers.
  • They must be able to follow directions of supervisors and refrain from causing or contributing to disruptions.
  • Must have a current license by the State authority.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner and all other duties assigned.
